I’m Sian.

I studied design in my homeland of New Zealand, and I have a Bachelor of Media Arts (majoring in Graphic Design).

For the last 10+ years I’ve worked as a Designer I’ve been working with 1-1 clients, creating online course platforms, designing digital products + Branding, and creating a solid amount of Squarespace websites. I’ve also been using Squarespace myself for 8+ years.

Long story short — Design is what I do.

It’s my mish to help you give less fucks about what everyone else is in the industry is doing, so you can raise your own design standards and your confidence and start creating on your own terms — in a way that feels bloody exciting, and makes you more bank in the process (because your skills + your energy = everything).

That’s where the real magic goes down.

Road-trippin’ – A set of wheels + no plans + windows down + a sense of adventure + a camera + my vibey house playlists = STOKED AF.

British Columbia — It’s my home these days, and I bloody love it. 20/10 would recommend. It’s one of the most magical places I’ve ever been, and I still gotta pinch myself on the reg that I get to call this place home.

We’ll look at why it works (their Brand, their Website, their Socials, all of it) how they are doing things on their own terms, and how you can let these awesome Brands inspire you in your own work. (If you’ve seen my What Makes Good Design series before, this is like a much more in-depth version of those!)

Monthly Office Hours

Inside the Membership Hub you’ll find an ‘Office Hours’ tab, where you can drop in any time to submit a question or a request for feedback on something you might be working on.

And then once a month, I’ll record as many answers as I can in a video, and upload it to the Hub for you & everyone else to check out!

I started doing this same style of feedback in the OG Make It Yours Squarespace Course, and it was a hit with the members inside! Because the sessions aren’t live, and you can submit anytime, it’s not really reliant on any one time zone, which I know can be a deal breaker for some people (and I totally get that, too).

We'll take a look at some ways to troubleshoot when things go sideways, say for example when you're trying to make your website look good on mobile, or if some of your images are showing up whack, or other things like that. I'll also give you some of my go-to tips and resources for making sure your site is GOOD TO GO before you hit launch.

FAQ

  • The Make It Yours Membership has a minimum commitment of 6 months. Why, you ask?

    Well, because I’ve seen from experience that people really get the most out of something when you truly commit to it long term, and join a community to really deep-dive on it.

    And secondly, because this Membership includes full, lifetime access to the OG Make It Yours Squarespace Design course, that 6-month commitment also covers your investment in that course!

    It’s kind of the whole vibe with a membership too, you know, stick around for a while, + get the most out of it, then decide if you want to keep rollin’ with us! You can quit anytime after your 6 months is up.

  • It depends what you’re looking for, really. Everything on this page represents whats inside the Membership, so I will leave it up to you to make that decision. A big focus of this Membership is Squarespace though, so if you aren’t a SS Designer, there is a reasonable amount of the content that won’t be applicable.

  • No. Please refer to the question above to see why there is a 6 month minimum. But, after your initial 6 months is up, you can cancel anytime!

  • You will receive access to each Lesson in Make It Yours over the course of your first 6 months. i.e. When you join, you’ll get Lesson 1. Then, in your second month, you’ll get Lesson 2. Third month, Lesson 3, and so on!

    Aka, by the end of your 6 months you will have received your full access to the Make It Yours course, which you will have lifetime access to — whether you leave the membership or not.

  • Not right now. I’ve found that running live classes is a bit harder and doesn’t have the same experience when there is a smaller group of people (aka less people will likely show up live), so these are pre-recorded. But, I am very open to doing live ones in the future!

  • Well, kind of! There is the Office Hours tab thats open 24/7! This is where you can send me any design questions or feedback requests you have, and once a month I’ll gather them up and record my answers in a video for you, and upload it to the Office Hours hub for everyone else to peep as well!

  • What you see here is what you get, and I trust that you can decide for yourself if this membership is right for you. I am also very confident you’ll love it and get massive value out of it!

    I have tried a few variations in the past with the more community side of things (Facebook groups, Slack, Instagram, etc), and I am still deciding on which route to go before I can lock it in. This is something I want to know is the right move before I do it, so I want to take a little more time on it.

    It’s most def something I want to build into Make It Yours, it’s just a matter of finding the right fit!

    The Masterclasses — These are only available inside the MIY Membership. They are not sold separately.

    MIY, The Squarespace Design Course — This is only available inside the MIY Membership. (But, even if it was available individually, it’d be the same price, minus all of the extra content you get on the reg with the membership).

    The Templates — Some of the templates are available in the Good as Gold Shop (such as the XD, Canva, and Notion templates), and some are limited to the MIY Membership only.

  • Yes! Designers of any level can join Make It Yours. If I had to put a range on it, I would say it’s best for Beginner to Intermediate Designers/Squarespace Designers.

  • Well, you could. Everything you can expect from Make It Yours is laid out here on this page very clearly, so you can make that decision for yourself! Remember, all of the content is geared towards Designers.

  • The doors to Make It Yours are always open! But, if there is a special offer on (you will see this specified in the payment section), this is a limited time offer.
